A path out of poverty that ensures independence and transforms the lives of young women and girls who can integrate independent living through financial literacy, education readiness, job preparedness, health and wellness and mentorship.

Her Destiny provides resources and opportunities for homeless and high-risk girls and young women by breaking the cycle of trauma and supporting a hopeful future for the next generation of women.
OUR HISTORY
In 2018, The founder of Her Destiny was deeply moved by the stories of countless girls and young women in Detroit who believed that they had no purpose in life and that their futures were bleak. Many of these girls were struggling with poverty, homelessness, abuse, and trauma, and were turning to risky behaviors in an effort to cope. Determined to make a difference, the founder set out to create a nonprofit organization that could provide the support and resources these girls needed to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. With a focus on financial literacy, education preparedness, job readiness, Health and wellness and mentorship, Her Destiny set out to help at-risk girls and young women in Detroit gain the skills and confidence they needed to live independently and fulfill their destinies.Through our programs and services, we help provide a safe and supportive environment where girls and young women can learn, grow, and thrive.
OUR FOUNDER
MEET LAKIYA NEAL
Lakiya Neal, the founder of Her Destiny, is a visionary leader with a heart for serving young women in underserved communities. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, Lakiya developed a passion for using her skills and experience to make a positive impact in the world. With a background in public relations, Christian leadership, nonprofit administration, and project management, Lakiya has a unique combination of expertise and dedication to help those in need.
Her journey and the stories of girls and young women facing similar challenges inspired her to form Her Destiny. Through her faith and determination, she earned a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and a master's degree in Christian Leadership and is currently pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Administration. With her globally recognized project management certification and entrepreneurial spirit, Lakiya founded Her Destiny with a mission to empower girls and young women to achieve their full potential.
Her Destiny provides financial literacy, education preparedness, job readiness, health and wellness, and mentorship programs to help girls and young women overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. With a focus on creating strong relationships and efficient project management, Lakiya and the Her Destiny team are dedicated to helping young women in Detroit reach their full potential and fulfill their destinies.
